Main characteristics of the variety:
- Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) is a plant of the genus Chenopodium in the Amaranthaceae family. Upon maturity, the upper panicles of the plant slightly resemble sorghum panicles. Quinoa has two flower morphologies, and its inflorescences are umbel-like, spicate, or paniculate. Quinoa seeds are small, flat and round flakes, measuring 1.5–2 mm in diameter, with a 1000-grain weight of 1.4–3 g. This crop boasts strong environmental adaptability, stable yield and high productivity. As a nutrient-dense coarse grain, white quinoa is abundant in protein and dietary fiber and can be consumed as a staple food. After cooking, it features a soft, glutinous texture and mild taste with barely any bitter flavour.
