Variety characteristics:

• W1409 Naiyou is a distinctive striped squash variety producing elongated, column-shaped fruits with a cream to pale orange-pink rind and dark-green longitudinal stripes. The mature flesh is dense, fine-textured and relatively starchy, with a pleasantly mild, sweet flavor. Young fruits may be harvested approximately 30 days after fruit set for a more tender texture, while fully mature fruits may be ready at approximately 45 days after fruit set. The vines can continue setting additional fruits under suitable growing and pollination conditions. Mature rind color and stripe development may vary with sunlight, nutrition and fruit position.
