Variety characteristics:

• W1404 Huangjin Gou is an early climbing Chinese oil bean variety producing thick, gently curved pods with a creamy-yellow to golden color. As the pods mature, some may develop light pink or red streaking over the yellow background. Tender pods typically measure approximately 6 inches (15 cm) long and have thick, fine-textured walls. When harvested before the seeds become overly enlarged, the cooked pods develop a tender, smooth texture with relatively little noticeable fiber. Under suitable warm-season conditions, the first harvest may begin approximately 50–55 days after emergence.
