Variety characteristics:

• W1401 Yapajia is a vigorous climbing bean variety producing thick, rounded-flat pods that range from green with a purple blush to predominantly purple. Tender pods typically measure approximately 7–9.4 inches (18–24 cm) long. The main vine carries closely spaced pods under favorable growing conditions, and the plants require a sturdy trellis or pole system for support. Harvest the pods while young, fleshy and before the developing seeds become prominent. The cooked pods have a tender, substantial texture suitable for stir-fries, braised dishes and other bean recipes.
