Variety characteristics:

• W1397 Dama Zhang is an early climbing bean variety producing broad, flat green pods marked with irregular dark-purple streaks. Tender pods typically measure approximately 6.3–7.1 inches (16–18 cm) long and about 1.2 inches (3 cm) wide. The thick, fleshy pod walls develop a soft, tender texture when cooked and harvested before the seeds become overly mature. Under suitable warm-season conditions, the first harvest may begin approximately 50–55 days after emergence. Vigorous vines require a sturdy trellis, pole or other vertical support.
