• W1364 Hei Bao is a distinctive fresh-eating sweet-waxy corn. Vigorous, compact plants grow approximately 7.8–8 feet tall, with ears positioned about 42 inches above the ground. Large cylindrical ears measure approximately 9.8 inches long and 2.1 inches across, typically carrying 16 straight rows of glossy purple to purple-black kernels on a purple cob. The kernels combine noticeable sweetness with the pleasantly dense, chewy texture characteristic of Asian waxy corn. Depending on climate, planting season, and accumulated heat, fresh ears are generally ready approximately 88–97 days after emergence. Harvest during the milk stage for the best balance of sweetness, tenderness, and waxy texture. Plant in blocks for effective pollination and isolate from other corn varieties to preserve kernel color and eating quality.
