Compact, woody-based plants generally grow about 12 inches tall, with some plants reaching approximately 12–18 inches under favorable conditions. Small pale pink, lavender, or nearly white flowers appear from late spring through summer and attract small visiting pollinators. The slender leaves offer a slightly sweet, delicately savory thyme flavor traditionally used in French cooking, bouquet garni, herb blends, soups, stews, sauces, stuffing, roasted vegetables, poultry, fish, and meat dishes.
