Variety characteristics:

• W1351 Large-Flowered Deep Red is a tall Zinnia elegans selection producing dramatic crimson, scarlet, and deep red flowers for cutting gardens and summer borders. Vigorous plants grow approximately 31–39 inches tall and carry their blooms on long, upright stems. Approximately 80% of the flowers are expected to be double or semi-double, although a small percentage of open-centered or single blooms may occur. Flower color may appear brighter red, darker crimson, or slightly wine-toned depending on sunlight, temperature, flower age, photography, and display settings. Fast-growing plants continue producing new flowering stems when blooms are harvested or faded flowers are removed regularly. Provide full sun, fertile well-drained soil, consistent moisture, and mesh or stake support in areas exposed to wind and heavy rain. Tall dahlia-flowered zinnias commonly grow 30–40 inches high and are particularly suitable for cutting beds and back borders.
