U2421 Early Purple Sprouting Broccoli is an early purple sprouting selection producing abundant clusters of tender violet-purple side shoots in late winter and spring. The slender stems and tightly packed florets cook quickly while retaining a soft, delicate texture and a gentle nutty flavor. Productive plants continue sending out fresh side shoots as individual stems are harvested, providing a generous seasonal crop from compact garden plantings. Sow in cool conditions, overwinter the plants, and harvest the colorful shoots when the buds are firm and fully developed. Excellent for steaming, roasting, stir-frying, soups, pasta, salads, and fresh vegetable platters.
