- Snow-on-the-Mountain (Scientific Name: Euphorbia marginata Pursh) is an annual herbaceous plant of the Euphorbiaceae family, Euphorbia genus. It is heliophilous (sun-loving), drought-tolerant and highly adaptable. Its optimal growth temperature ranges from 15°C to 25°C; however, it has poor cold tolerance and cannot tolerate waterlogging. It is suitable for planting in loose, breathable and well-drained sandy soil. The plant has slender roots and abundant branches; leaves are alternate, elliptic with white leaf margins. Under sufficient sunlight, the silvery leaf margins and white bracts become more distinct. As a garden ornamental flower, it is often planted along courtyard walls and roadsides, and its tall varieties can also be used as cut flower materials.
