- Slipper gourd (Cyclanthera pedata) is an annual climbing herbaceous plant belonging to the Cyclanthera genus of the Cucurbitaceae family. It flowers and fruits in summer and autumn, prefers warm climates, and is sensitive to low temperatures. It exhibits moderate drought tolerance and is classified as a short-day plant. During the seedling stage, it is frost-sensitive and thrives in moist but well-drained conditions, with an optimal growth temperature range of 12–22℃.
- The fruit is conical or short-horned in shape, with a slightly curved and pointed tip, measuring 5–6 cm in length and approximately 2 cm in diameter. Immature fruits are light green, turning pale yellow upon ripening, and both stages are edible, offering a crisp, mildly sweet flavor.
