Variety Characteristics:
- Lilium 'Black Knight' is a dark-toned ornamental lily. Its purplish-black petals feature a velvety matte texture with deep red stamens. The trumpet-shaped blooms have a diameter of 12–15 cm, and the plant reaches a height of 60–90 cm. It is ideal for garden landscaping, container cultivation, and cut-flower use. Highly cold-hardy, this perennial bulbous lily boasts excellent re-flowering performance and strong bulb propagation capability. Loose, breathable, and well-draining soil is required for cultivation. Insufficient light will lighten the flower hue to pale purplish-red. Once blooming finishes, prune off spent flower stalks and keep stems and leaves intact to nourish the bulbs, enabling re-flowering and bulb propagation in the next growing season. Be careful to prevent waterlogging in potting soil, which may lead to bulb rot.
