Variety Characteristics:
- Chickpea is an annual herbaceous plant, 1–2 m tall, with erect and much-branched stems covered with white glandular hairs. The pods are elliptical, inflated and pendulous, about 2 cm long and 1 cm wide, green when young and turning pale yellow when mature. Chickpea seeds, young pods and young seedlings are all edible. The stems and leaves are also excellent feed materials, so it has both edible and feeding value.
