Variety Characteristics:
- Cosmos bipinnatus is typically cultivated as an annual. It grows to a height of 1–2 meters. The flower heads are solitary, 3–6 cm in diameter. Ray florets are purplish-red, pink or white, with elliptic-obovate ligules 2–3 cm long and 3–5 blunt teeth; disc florets are yellow, 6–8 mm long, with a relatively short tube, cylindrical upper part and lanceolate lobes. It has high ornamental value and is suitable for garden planting, potted cultivation and landscaping.
