Variety Characteristics:
- Echeveria laui is a succulent of the Crassulaceae family, genus Echeveria. It features a short stem with fleshy leaves arranged in a rosette. The rosette diameter of wild specimens is around 15 cm, while cultivated ones can grow to over 30 cm across. Its thick, spoon-shaped leaves have obtuse or slightly pointed tips and are brownish-green, coated with dense grayish-white or pale blue-gray farina. When grown under adequate sunlight with large temperature swings, the leaf edges and even the whole rosette will turn pale pink or pinkish purple. It bears small orange-red flowers on spicate inflorescences in spring. This succulent prefers full sun and well-drained soil. In hot summer weather, the plant goes into dormancy or semi-dormancy, so strict water restriction and good ventilation are required.
