Variety Characteristics:
- This variety is characterized by its short, prostrate growth habit, with leaves forming dense rosettes. The leaves are broad, thick, fleshy, and long-lanceolate in shape, exhibiting a light green color. The plant demonstrates weak regenerative capacity, moderate water and nutrient absorption, as well as poor tolerance to both drought and excessive moisture. It bolts relatively early, enabling sequential harvesting within 30 to 60 days after sowing. With its rapid growth rate, strong heat tolerance, and high yield potential (reaching up to 2,500 kg per mu), this variety offers considerable productivity. However, its early bolting and flowering period may somewhat restrict the duration of availability.
- The leaves possess a soft, glutinous texture and deliver a tender mouthfeel. They are notable for their pronounced umami taste, though their aroma is relatively mild. Ideal for use as finely chopped filling in dumplings and steamed buns, the leaves can also be stir-fried, blanched for cold dishes, or cooked in hot pot. Nutritionally rich, they are considered beneficial in aiding the alleviation of conditions such as dysentery, edema, and hypertension.
