Main Characteristics of the Variety:

- Broad-leaved Albuca (scientific name: Albuca concordiana Baker) is a species in the genus Albuca of the family Asparagaceae, native to the desert regions of southern Africa. The plant has a spherical or irregular bulb. The underground portion of the bulb has a yellowish-white skin, while the part exposed to sunlight turns greenish-white. Fleshy leaves emerge from the top of the bulb, initially growing upright before twisting and spiraling upward. The leaves are strap-shaped, approximately 1–1.5 cm wide, with a pointed tip. It blooms from March to April, producing racemes of yellow flowers with a central green stripe on each petal. After flowering, the leaves gradually wither, and the bulb enters dormancy during the summer.

- Broad-leaved Albuca thrives in cool, dry, and sunny conditions. It is tolerant of partial shade, drought, and mild low temperatures but susceptible to hot and humid environments. Its growing season extends from late August to the following April, during which full sun exposure is essential to maintain the twisted leaf form. Provide shading when temperatures exceed 33℃ in summer. Keep the soil moist but well-drained during active growth. Reduce watering in winter and occasionally mist to maintain humidity; overwintering temperature should be kept above 0℃. With its compact size and elegantly dynamic foliage, this plant is well-suited for small pot cultivation and makes an attractive addition to well-lit windowsills or balconies.
