Explore Bellfarm® Cashew Tree Seeds, collected with care by our team. Each pack includes 5 seeds of this unique variety, thriving in warm climates and offering versatile uses from fresh consumption to oil extraction and durable wood ideal for shipbuilding. Plant in well-draining sandy soil with moderate rainfall for optimal growth.
🌱 Introduction: Bellfarm® Cashew Tree Seeds, also known as Anacardium occidentale, are carefully collected by the Bellfarm® team. Each pack contains 5 seeds, providing you with a selection of this unique variety.
🌱 Characteristics: This variety of cashew tree is a deciduous shrub or small tree that can reach heights of 4-10 meters (13FT-33FT). It features yellow-brown branches and leathery ovate leaves with prominent veins on both sides. The flowers are yellow, with lanceolate sepals and petals, leading to kidney-shaped fruits that ripen from fresh yellow to purple-red. The flowering period typically occurs from December to May, while fruiting occurs from April to July.
🌱 Versatile Uses: The Bellfarm® Cashew Tree is highly versatile. Its fruits can be consumed fresh or used to make juice, jam, candied treats, canned products, and even brewed into beverages. The shell oil extracted from the fruit is an excellent preservative or waterproofing agent. The wood of the cashew tree is durable and resistant to decay, making it ideal for shipbuilding. Cashew nuts themselves can be roasted and seasoned for snacking, incorporated into pastries or confectionery, or processed into high-quality edible oil, commonly used in chocolate production.
🌱 Adaptability: The Bellfarm® Cashew Tree is adaptable and thrives in warm, sunny climates. It can tolerate drought conditions and poor soils, displaying moderate resistance to strong winds. Optimal growth occurs below 400 meters above sea level, in sandy or loamy soils with organic matter content exceeding 1%. However, it is not well-suited for heavy clay or limestone soils.
🌱 Planting Instructions: To plant Bellfarm® Cashew Tree Seeds, choose sandy soil with good drainage to prevent waterlogging, ensuring a planting depth of 10 centimeters (4 IN) to allow for root expansion. Maintain a planting distance of 30 feet between trees to provide ample space for growth. Select locations with moderate rainfall and ensure the tree receives at least 6 hours of sunlight daily for optimal development. Ideal planting sites include open fields, farmland, and sheltered hillsides that minimize exposure to excessive wind.
