Experience the exceptional beauty of Bellfarm® Aloe polyphylla seeds, known for their mesmerizing spiral rosettes and vibrant green leaves. These premium seeds thrive in well-drained, sunlit environments and are highly adaptable to various climates. Perfect for garden enthusiasts, they promise a stunning, long-lasting addition to any collection.
🌱 Premium Aloe polyphylla Seeds: Known as Spiral Aloe, Kroonaalwyn, Lekhala Kharetsa, or Many-Leaved Aloe, these seeds are meticulously harvested by the Bellfarm® team from our own cultivation base. We offer multiple quantity options: 5, 10, 50, or 100 seeds to suit your gardening needs.
🌱 Unique Succulent Plant: Aloe polyphylla is a stemless succulent plant. Each plant forms a solitary rosette, reaching up to 30 cm (12'') in height and 90 cm (36'') in width. The leaves are arranged in a striking spiral pattern, ranging from bright green to gray-green, with soft, succulent, and thick textures. The leaf edges feature irregular serrations. A mature plant typically has 130-150 leaves arranged in either a clockwise or counterclockwise spiral. The flower stalk can grow up to 60 cm (24'') tall, bearing red to flesh-pink flowers in compact clusters from spring to early summer.
🌱Ideal Growing Conditions: Aloe polyphylla thrives in well-drained, loose soil that resists compaction. Adding grit or cinder to regular soil can improve drainage. Avoid poorly drained, non-porous soils as they can hinder root respiration and stunt growth. This plant prefers ample sunlight and grows well in environments with significant temperature fluctuations. It is both heat and frost-tolerant, withstanding temperatures above 40°C and freezing conditions without damage. Watering should be moderate; allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings for optimal growth.
🌱 High Ornamental Value: This Aloe species boasts exceptional aesthetic appeal. Although it grows steadily once mature, its strong apical dominance prevents natural offsets. The flowers are spectacular and bloom under specific climatic conditions, typically during spring and early summer. In its native habitat, it blooms only in favorable weather, and may not flower for several years if conditions are not ideal. The plant has a long lifespan, reportedly living for over 50 years.
🌱 Propagation by Seeds: Aloe polyphylla cannot be propagated vegetatively and must be grown from seeds. Cold and moist stratification treatments break seed dormancy, and treatments with hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, hydrochloric acid, or sodium hydroxide can enhance seed coat permeability. To germinate, soak seeds in water at around 25°C, placing them in a semi-shaded area and changing the water daily for about a week. Seeds typically sprout within 15 days. Plant the germinated seeds in a mix of peat and one-third perlite, about 1 cm deep. Sprouts should emerge within a week and can be placed in full sunlight, keeping the soil moist. Within a year, the seedlings can reach a diameter of about 10 cm, starting to spiral by the second year, and blooming when 6-8 years old with a diameter of around 80 cm. Artificial pollination can produce fruits.
