Variety characteristics:

• 969 Idaho Hillbilly Tomato is a very rare tall midseason heirloom from Boise, Idaho, with history dating back to the 1940s. The name 'Idaho' is used to distinguish it from another variety known simply as Hillbilly. Plants are productive and produce long paste-type fruits about 6 in in length. The fruits mature in warm red-orange tones and have excellent eating quality: sweet, very juicy, meaty, soft-fleshed, and full of bright classic tomato aroma. This paste-type tomato is especially well suited for cooking, canning, tomato sauce, ketchup, and other kitchen processing, while still being flavorful enough for fresh use.
