80 Maria's Heart is a large family heirloom tomato preserved through private seed exchange and associated with a German family line. The vigorous indeterminate plants produce beautiful heart-shaped to broad oxheart fruits weighing approximately 7.1–17.6 oz, with exceptional specimens possible under favorable conditions. Fruits ripen from golden yellow and orange to rich orange-red, sometimes developing deeper red-orange shading as they reach full maturity. The tender, juicy flesh is meaty and smooth, with a sweet, rich flavor and relatively few seed cavities. Fruit shape may range from rounded hearts to gently elongated oxhearts, with light ribbing around the shoulders. Provide sturdy staking, caging, or trellising for the tall plants and heavy fruit. Excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, tomato platters, juice, sauces, and family heirloom collections.
