Variety characteristics:

• 602 Sofia's Fiery Comet is a spectacular midseason tomato developed by Russian breeder Sofia Saakova. Vigorous indeterminate vines grow approximately 6 ft or taller and produce heavy crops of heart-shaped fruits with prominent pointed tips. Tomatoes weigh approximately 3.5 to 12.3 oz and undergo a dramatic color transformation as they ripen. Dark anthocyanin shoulders give way to fiery crimson and raspberry-pink coloring decorated with gold, rose, and purple streaks and brushstroke-like markings. The dense yet juicy flesh offers pronounced sweetness, rich tomato flavor, and relatively small seed cavities. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, sauces, and colorful tomato platters. Strong staking or trellising is required.
