• 578 Abakansky Pink is a large-fruited Russian tomato officially registered in 2007 for growing in open ground and under unheated film protection. Strong, tall-determinate plants generally reach approximately 4 to 5.5 feet, depending on climate and culture. They produce large, richly pink tomatoes ranging from broad oxhearts to rounded or oblate fruits. Most fruits in this seed lot weigh approximately 7.1 to 14.1 oz, while exceptional lower-truss fruits may reach about 28.2 oz under favorable conditions. The dense, meaty pink flesh contains relatively few seeds and offers pronounced sweetness, a rich aroma, and satisfying classic tomato flavor.
