538 Almower Black Dwarf is a tall dwarf-type collector tomato producing eye-catching yellow fruits with dramatic purple-black anthocyanin shoulders. The fruits range from round and slightly flattened to subtly pear-shaped, with the darkest pigmentation developing on sun-exposed areas. Inside, the flesh is pale yellow, juicy, tender, and creamy, with a sweet, aromatic flavor. Midseason plants reach approximately 4.3 to 4.9 ft tall and set clusters of attractive medium-sized fruits. The sturdy but heavily loaded plants benefit from a strong cage or short trellis.
