521 Yellow Kite is a vigorous, midseason indeterminate tomato circulated from Russia under the name Korshun Zhyoltyj. Strong, tall plants with broad foliage produce large yellow bicolor tomatoes commonly weighing 10.6 oz or more. Fruits vary from broad-heart to oblate beefsteak shapes and may develop a soft pink blush as they become fully ripe. The pale yellow to golden flesh is juicy and meaty, sometimes showing delicate pink marbling near the center. Its exceptionally sweet flavor is often described as honey-like, making Yellow Kite an excellent fresh slicing tomato for salads, sandwiches, tomato platters, juice, and golden sauces. Train the vigorous plants to two or three main stems and provide sturdy support for the heavy fruits.
