520 Jeff Davis is an open-pollinated heirloom tomato known for its potato-leaf foliage and large, pink beefsteak fruits. The round to flattened tomatoes may have lightly ribbed shoulders and weigh approximately 10.6 to 17.6 oz in the supplied growing description. Their juicy, tender flesh has a small core, relatively few seeds, and a mild, sweet tomato flavor. Indeterminate vines need sturdy support, particularly as the heavy fruits develop. Jeff Davis makes an excellent fresh slicer for sandwiches, burgers, and salads. The ripe fruit is best enjoyed soon after harvest rather than selected for long storage.
