The name stands for "Heart Shaped Potato Leaf," describing its unusual combination of heart-shaped fruit and potato-leaf foliage. Its juicy, meaty fruits typically weigh approximately 7 to 11 oz in the supplied description, with occasional larger fruits approaching 1 lb. Rounded to lightly ribbed shoulders taper toward a heart-shaped tip. The flesh is tender and creamy in texture, with relatively few seeds and a notably sweet flavor. Vigorous indeterminate plants begin producing around midseason and need support for their fruiting branches. HeShPoLe is particularly well suited to fresh slices, sandwiches, and salads.
