• 488 Yaponka is a tall Russian tomato variety producing beautiful raspberry-pink, heart-shaped fruits that typically weigh around 10.6 oz. The smooth, fleshy tomatoes have broad shoulders and taper to a pointed tip, with some developing a longer beak-like end. Dense, creamy flesh contains relatively few seeds and delivers a rich, sweet tomato flavor. Vigorous indeterminate vines reach approximately 6 to 6.5 ft and carry clusters of three to five substantial fruits. The tender, meaty harvest is excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, tomato juice, and rich sauces.
