45 Wolverine is a striking midseason to mid-late indeterminate beefsteak tomato developed from a cross between Great White and OSU P20 by German breeder Reinhard Kraft and later selected by Dean Slater. Tall, lightly foliated plants typically reach approximately 5.2–5.9 feet and produce flattened to rounded beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 5.3–10.6 oz. The fruits ripen to golden yellow, amber yellow, or yellow-orange while developing dramatic deep purple, blue-black, and mahogany anthocyanin shading across the shoulders and upper skin. Some fruits display radiating dark stripes that create a dramatic Wolverine-like pattern. The pale yellow to creamy flesh is juicy, meaty, and relatively low in seeds, with an aromatic flavor, gentle sweetness, and subtle citrus notes. Provide sturdy staking, caging, or trellising for the vigorous vines and heavy fruit clusters. Excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, tomato platters, sauces, and specialty garden displays.
