Variety characteristics:

• 43 Jason 8 Yellow is a tall-growing beefsteak tomato producing substantial golden-yellow to orange-yellow fruits weighing approximately 7.1–14.1 oz. The attractive tomatoes are predominantly oblate, with gently to moderately ribbed shoulders and smooth, glossy skin. Sliced fruits reveal thick, juicy golden flesh, a substantial meaty center, and relatively small seed cavities, providing generous slices with very little wasted space. Plants reach approximately 5.9 feet and require secure staking, caging, or trellising to support the large fruits as they develop. For improved airflow and manageable growth, train the plants to one or two main stems and tie them regularly throughout the season. The large, colorful fruits are well suited to fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, yellow tomato platters, salsa, sauces, juice, and thick golden tomato purée. A useful selection for growers seeking large yellow beefsteaks with attractive ribbing and a dense, substantial interior.
