Halfmoon China is a rare, midseason heirloom tomato producing substantial creamy yellow beefsteaks weighing approximately 8.8–14.1 oz in this seed line. The rounded, slightly flattened fruits develop softly ribbed shoulders and may acquire a delicate pink blush when fully ripe. Inside, the pale, meaty flesh is exceptionally juicy, with multiple seed cavities and a mild, gently sweet flavor. Vigorous indeterminate vines can reach approximately 6.6 feet under greenhouse conditions and continue setting fruit until frost. Grow the vines on a sturdy stake or trellis; training to one or two main stems can improve airflow and make the large fruits easier to support. Halfmoon China is excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, mild sauces, and elegant tomato platters.
