Violet Noir is a midseason Belgian tomato producing substantial purple beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 7.1–14.1 oz. The tomatoes are round to slightly flattened, with raised, gently ribbed shoulders that may become deeply curved or folded on larger fruits. Their thin skin matures to dusky purple, mahogany, and brownish red while retaining distinctive olive-green shoulders. Inside, the meaty red to dusky rose flesh is exceptionally juicy, with dark green gel surrounding the seed cavities. Its rich, aromatic flavor combines savory tomato depth with balanced sweetness and acidity.
