Variety characteristics:

• 40 Green Ember is a striking tall-growing beefsteak tomato producing large, multicolored fruits weighing approximately 7.1–17.6 oz. The predominantly oblate tomatoes mature through an unusual combination of yellow-green, olive-gold, pink, and red, with the amount of exterior blush varying from fruit to fruit. Sliced tomatoes reveal an especially dramatic interior: thick golden-green flesh surrounds multiple seed chambers, while vivid red marbling and flame-like coloration radiate through the center. The substantial, juicy texture produces broad, colorful slices with a distinctive appearance on the plate. Plants reach approximately 5.9 feet under reported growing conditions and require secure staking, caging, or trellising to support the heavy fruit. Allow fruits to develop warmer golden tones, visible red blush, and a slight softness before harvesting. An excellent specialty tomato for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, multicolored tomato platters, salsa, sauces, and visually impressive garden displays.
