Variety characteristics:

• 358 Edith Bernhard is a distinctive midseason tomato producing round, small-to-medium salad fruits weighing approximately 2.8 to 3.5 oz. The tomatoes mature from striped pale and dark green to glowing yellow and golden orange, while surfaces exposed to direct sunlight develop dramatic smoky purple, brown-black, and nearly black anthocyanin shoulders with irregular vertical markings. The firm, exceptionally juicy golden flesh delivers pronounced sweetness, balanced tomato acidity, and a rich, fruity flavor with a lightly savory, spicy finish. Vigorous indeterminate plants reach approximately 4.6 to 6.6 feet tall and develop regular foliage with a relatively open canopy that keeps the colorful fruits highly visible. Provide sturdy staking or trellising and avoid excessive pruning where intense sunlight may cause sunscald. Productive plants begin ripening around midseason, and the firm fruits have good postharvest keeping quality. Excellent for fresh slicing, salads, caprese, snacking, salsa, roasting, sauces, and colorful tomato platters.
