343 Midnight Sun is a midseason indeterminate oxheart tomato developed in Canada by breeder Karen Olivier as part of her True North series. Potato-leaf plants produce large, pointed heart-shaped fruits typically weighing about 7.1–14.1 oz. The glossy skin ripens to golden yellow or warm orange with delicate pink-red marbling, often concentrated near the blossom end. Inside, the dense yet juicy flesh displays yellow-orange and pink-red streaking with very few seeds. Its exceptional flavor combines rich sweetness, bright fruitiness, and subtle peach-like notes. Bred with cool and short-season gardens in mind, the vigorous vines benefit from sturdy staking or trellising. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, and colorful heirloom-style platters.
