309 Manhattan Bicolor is a striking midseason tomato producing large, flattened to broad heart-shaped beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 10.6 to 17.6 oz. The golden-yellow to warm orange skin develops sweeping pink, rose-red, and crimson blushes that may cover much of the fruit when fully ripe. Inside, the exceptionally juicy, meaty golden flesh is marbled with vivid pink and red radiating streaks, creating a dramatic appearance in every slice. Rich sweetness, soft fruity notes, and mild tomato acidity combine in a full, harmonious flavor that is especially rewarding when the fruits are allowed to ripen completely on the vine. Vigorous indeterminate plants generally reach approximately 5.5 to 6.5 feet tall and require regular tying, pruning, and strong support for the substantial fruits. Provide a sturdy cage or trellis and maintain consistent soil moisture to reduce cracking around the shoulders. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, caprese, tomato platters, chilled soups, juice, and fresh sauces.
