308 Orange Strawberry is an outstanding midseason heirloom tomato producing large, strawberry-shaped to broad oxheart fruits weighing approximately 8 to 16 oz, with occasional fruits approaching 1 lb. The smooth to lightly ribbed tomatoes ripen to an intense, luminous orange both inside and out, developing broad shoulders, gently tapered bodies, and rounded to pointed blossom ends. Dense, aromatic flesh is exceptionally meaty yet juicy, with small seed cavities, very few seeds, and a firm, tender slicing texture. Exceptionally rich sweetness, bright fruity character, and just enough tomato acidity create a deep, harmonious flavor. Vigorous indeterminate regular-leaf vines commonly reach approximately 6 to 7 feet and produce excellent yields for a large oxheart variety. Provide a tall, sturdy stake or trellis and support the heaviest fruits individually when needed. Excellent for fresh slicing, tomato sandwiches, salads, caprese, roasting, canning, thick sauces, and orange tomato juice.
