301 Olympic Champion is a striking midseason tomato producing large, irregular heart-shaped fruits weighing approximately 7.1 to 17.6 oz. The broad, beautifully tapered tomatoes mature to deep burgundy, wine red, and dusky red-brown, decorated with metallic olive-green, antique gold, and copper-toned stripes that create a dramatic pearlescent appearance. Inside, the richly colored crimson-red flesh is exceptionally meaty, juicy, and buttery, with small seed cavities and remarkably few seeds. Full-bodied sweetness, gentle tomato acidity, and complex dark-fruited character create a rich, lingering flavor that becomes sweeter in warm growing conditions. Tall indeterminate plants generally reach approximately 5 to 6.6 feet and may develop slender stems that require regular tying and strong support for the substantial fruits. Train the vines to one or two stems and maintain steady nutrition and soil moisture for the best fruit texture and shoulder development. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, caprese, tomato platters, roasting, juice, thick sauces, paste, and ketchup.
