297 Perth Pride is a prolific early-to-mid-season dwarf tomato producing round to slightly flattened slicer fruits weighing approximately 3.2 to 5.6 oz. The smooth, thin-skinned tomatoes ripen to a dusky rose-purple, raspberry-burgundy, and deep mahogany color, often retaining muted olive-green shading around the shoulders. Inside, the richly colored crimson-purple flesh is juicy and substantial, with green-tinted seed gel that creates the classic appearance of a dark tomato. Intense old-fashioned tomato flavor combines savory depth, bright fruitiness, and a distinctly tangy finish. Sturdy indeterminate dwarf plants develop thick central stems, short internodes, and dark green rugose regular-leaf foliage, generally reaching approximately 3 to 4 feet tall. Provide a strong cage or several stakes to support the productive branches, and maintain even soil moisture as the thin-skinned fruits begin to ripen. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, burgers, caprese, salsa, roasting, juice, and rich tomato sauces.
