294 Cherry Stripes is a spectacular midseason tomato producing large, broad heart-shaped to flattened beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 10.6 to 17.6 oz. The unusual tomatoes mature from green to olive-gold and warm ochre, developing cherry-pink, rose-red, and crimson streaks that radiate outward across the shoulders and center of each fruit. Inside, the exceptionally juicy, melting flesh combines pale green and golden-ochre coloring with vivid pink and cherry-red marbling, while the seeds remain suspended in translucent green gel. Rich sweetness, jammy fruit character, pronounced aroma, and a delicate touch of acidity create a complex, dessert-like tomato flavor. Vigorous indeterminate regular-leaf plants develop sturdy, well-foliated vines, reach approximately 6 to 6.5 feet tall, and continue producing substantial fruits over an extended harvest. Train the plants to one or two stems and provide a tall, secure trellis to support the heavy fruit clusters. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, caprese, tomato platters, chilled soups, juice, salsa, and concentrated sauces.
