290 Yellow Fan Multiflora is an exceptionally productive midseason tomato producing enormous, fan-shaped clusters of oval to elongated plum fruits weighing approximately 3.5 to 5.3 oz. The smooth tomatoes mature from pale green to luminous lemon yellow and rich golden yellow, developing gently tapered bodies with rounded or subtly pointed blossom ends. Thick, juicy yellow flesh delivers mild sweetness, a clean tomato aroma, and gentle acidity for a refreshing, balanced fresh flavor. Vigorous indeterminate plants develop regular-leaf foliage, reach approximately 5.9 to 6.6 feet tall, and form highly branched multiflora trusses that may carry an impressive number of substantial fruits. Train the vines to one or two stems and provide a tall, secure trellis, supporting the largest fan-shaped trusses individually as the crop develops. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, yellow salsa, roasting, whole-fruit preserves, juice, and golden tomato sauces.
