286 Senior Sergeant is a striking midseason indeterminate tomato producing beautiful red to raspberry-red fruits weighing approximately 7.1–17.6 oz in this seed line. The broad, rounded hearts have smooth to lightly ribbed skin and develop dramatic dark purple anthocyanin shoulders, especially where the fruit receives strong sunlight. The juicy, tender red flesh delivers pronounced sweetness, a rich tomato flavor, and a pleasant fruity finish. Vigorous plants reach approximately 5.9 feet and continue setting heavy fruit through the season. Train plants to one or two main stems and provide sturdy staking or trellising for the large clusters. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, sauces, and colorful tomato platters.
