279 Minusinsk Giant is a powerful midseason indeterminate tomato producing massive red fruits weighing approximately 10.6–24.7 oz, with exceptional specimens reaching or exceeding 2 lb. The broad, rounded hearts and wide conical beefsteaks develop smooth, glossy red skin with gently shaped shoulders and substantial, meat-filled interiors. The dense, juicy flesh delivers rich sweetness, classic tomato aroma, and a satisfying full-bodied finish, with relatively few seeds in larger fruits. Vigorous plants can reach approximately 6.6–8.2 feet and continue producing heavy fruit clusters through the season. Train plants to two or three main stems and provide strong staking, caging, or trellising for the exceptionally heavy fruits. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, tomato juice, sauces, and large heirloom platters.
