270 Deep Purple F4 is a striking midseason experimental tomato line producing abundant plum-shaped to oval fruits weighing approximately 3.5 to 7.1 oz. The skin develops an unusually intense purple-black anthocyanin overlay that can cover most of the fruit, while fully ripening areas may reveal deep red-brown tones beneath the dark pigmentation. Fruit shape may range from elongated ovals to fuller plum forms, creating an impressive display on the vine and in the harvest basket. Vigorous plants can reach approximately 6 ft and continue setting fruit over an extended season, so provide sturdy staking or trellising as the clusters become heavily loaded. Because this line is still at the F4 generation, individual plants may vary in color intensity, fruit shape, size, and overall expression; select and save seed from the plants that best match your preferred type. Excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, colorful tomato platters, roasting, sauces, and specialty garden selections.
