268 Sandra's Smile, formerly circulated as Cassandra, is a spectacular midseason tomato producing large, broadly oblate beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 8.8 to 21.2 oz, with occasional fruits approaching 28 oz under favorable conditions. The skin develops a glowing ochre-yellow to orange background covered with vivid olive-green stripes and brushlike markings, creating a striking multicolor display on the vine. Inside, the dense yet juicy ochre flesh delivers a sweet, creamy texture with balanced acidity and a rich fruity tomato finish. Vigorous indeterminate plants reach approximately 5.5 to 6.5 ft, carry slightly sparse regular foliage, and continue setting fruit over a long harvest period. Provide sturdy staking or trellising for the heavy clusters, and maintain even moisture as the thin-skinned fruits mature. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, tomato platters, juice, sauces, and colorful summer bruschetta.
