Variety characteristics:

• 258 Wherokowhai is a productive midseason dwarf tomato producing oblate to lightly ribbed bicolor beefsteak fruits weighing approximately 3.5 to 12.3 oz in this seed line, with occasional early fruits approaching 15.9 oz. The tomatoes mature from pale green to rich golden yellow and warm orange, developing vivid pink, rose-red, and crimson blushes and swirling markings across the skin. Inside, the exceptionally juicy, meaty golden flesh is beautifully marbled with pink and red through the center. Outstanding sweetness, gentle tomato acidity, and lingering fruity character create the classic rich, balanced flavor prized in yellow and red bicolor tomatoes. Sturdy indeterminate dwarf plants develop thick central stems and dark green, rugose potato-leaf foliage, generally reaching approximately 2 to 4 feet tall depending on climate and growing conditions. Provide a strong cage or several stakes to support the substantial fruit load, and harvest fully colored fruits promptly because very ripe tomatoes may soften and detach from the plant. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, salads, caprese, tomato platters, chilled soups, juice, and fresh sauces.
