• 225 Vova Putin is a large-fruited Russian tomato developed in the early 2000s by amateur breeder Nikolai Yegorov of Chelyabinsk. This vigorous midseason indeterminate develops dense regular-leaf foliage and vines reaching approximately 6.6 feet tall. The substantial red fruits typically weigh approximately 7.1–17.6 oz and may vary from round and oblate beefsteaks to broad, blunt-tipped hearts. Smooth red to deep raspberry-red skin covers tender, meaty flesh with small seed cavities and relatively few seeds. Its rich, old-fashioned tomato flavor features savory depth and lively acidity, balanced by moderate sweetness. Train plants to one or two main stems and provide heavy-duty staking, caging, or trellising for the vigorous vines and weighty fruits. Excellent for fresh slicing, sandwiches, burgers, salads, tomato juice, sauces, and traditional heirloom platters.
