Variety characteristics:

• 204 Amethyst Heart is a productive midseason indeterminate tomato selection with dramatic purple-black shoulders over a pink to raspberry-red base. Fruits average approximately 8.8 oz in the supplied grower’s description and may develop broad heart, rounded heart, or flattened beefsteak shapes, with occasional doubled or deeply lobed specimens. Inside, the dense raspberry-red flesh offers rich sweetness, distinctive tomato flavor, and a pronounced aroma. The striking contrast between the dark skin and richly colored interior makes this a beautiful choice for fresh slices, salads, sandwiches, and mixed-tomato platters. Tall plants require sturdy staking, caging, or trellising to support the developing fruit clusters. Reportedly derived from Amethyst Jewel crossed with an unidentified heart-shaped tomato, this selection is still undergoing stabilization. Fruit shape, size, and the extent of purple pigmentation may vary between plants and growing conditions.
