175 Dwarf Gandolf Variegated is a compact selection of Dean Slater's colorful Gandolf tomato. Plants reach approximately 3.3–3.9 feet and produce rounded to heart-shaped fruits weighing about 2.8–3.5 oz in this seed lot. The ripe tomatoes develop a bright red to orange-red base covered with broad golden-yellow stripes and attractive streaks; some fruits may retain a touch of green around the shoulders. Distinctive rugose potato leaves can display cream or light-green variegation, especially on younger growth. Fruits ripen in attractive clusters and offer juicy flesh with a mild, sweet tomato flavor. Growth habit may range from compact determinate-like to semi-determinate, so provide a stake or small cage for heavily loaded plants. Suitable for fresh snacking, salads, lunch-box tomatoes, colorful platters, and whole-fruit preserving.
