166 Perle de Lait is a midseason indeterminate beefsteak tomato originating from a gardener in France's Loire-Atlantique region. Tall vines can reach approximately 6.6 feet and produce two to three large fruits per truss. The round to slightly flattened fruits typically weigh approximately 7.1–17.6 oz and have gently rounded, lightly ribbed shoulders. Their creamy white to pale yellow skin develops a soft pink blush at maturity, especially toward the blossom end. Inside, the creamy white flesh is marbled with pink, with small seed cavities and relatively few seeds. The flavor is mild, sweet, and pleasantly rich without becoming bland. This distinctive French heirloom-type tomato is excellent for fresh slicing, salads, sandwiches, gourmet platters, and specialty culinary displays.
